Our coaches have been Co-workers and mates, long before pwr started.

Clair, Darren and Hayley met through the industry, spent years working together in a commercial gym and eventually decided to back themselves and build PWR. Three years later, they’re still loving it and still showing up with the same energy they started with.

Many of their clients followed them when PWR opened, and a lot of those familiar faces are still training with them today. It’s a pretty good sign of the kind of coaches they are and the community they’ve created.

Kylie joined the coaching team in 2025 - and has bought a decade of experience with her.

MEET OUR COACH / CO-FOUNDER

Clair Armstrong

Clair has worked in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years, with experience across administration, health promotion, personal training and now gym ownership. That broad background shapes a coaching style that’s practical, considered and people-focused.

Her interest in training grew through her own weight loss journey, a long-standing love of running and more recently through HYROX-style training both personally and with clients. Strength and conditioning sits at the core of how she trains and coaches, with a focus on building physical and mental resilience at any level.

Clair is passionate about helping people create long-term, sustainable habits so they can feel stronger, more confident and capable in their bodies.

  • Clair has a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion, Cert 3 & 4 in Fitness and is a Pre & Post Natal Certified Trainer.

  • Clair has a happy outlook on life and loves a mental and physical challenge that pushes the boundaries of her capabilities.

MEET OUR COACH/CO-FOUNDER

Darren chandler

Darren has been in the fitness industry since 2014, with over 20 years of training experience across weightlifting, boxing and competitive long-distance running. That range shows in his coaching, which is energetic, engaged and focused on getting the most out of every session.

He leads the boxing classes at PWR and brings a high level of energy to the floor, while still keeping technique and smart training front of mind. Whether you’re chasing strength, endurance or performance gains, Darren’s sessions keep you moving and switched on.

If you want to get him talking, ask him about running or fuelling for performance and he’ll happily chat your ear off.

  • As a smaller statured person, I initially got into weight training to add muscle. Fast forward 15 years and my training style has changed drastically. I’ve always loved a challenge, so even when I’m training on my own, I’m pushing my limits and seeing what I’m capable of.

    Being a competitive person, it naturally took its toll and I slowly gravitated towards events that took a physical performance during the competition. I’ve racked up plenty of half marathons, a full marathon, and even gave a CrossFit competition a go, in which I placed!

    This brought me to trying boxing and there it was, it lit the fire inside me and the passion was back! I’ve been boxing competitively for the last 3 years, and have even earned a couple of state titles along the way.

Hayley CAMPBELL

Hayley believes movement is one of life’s greatest gifts. She’s passionate about shifting the focus away from how our bodies look and toward celebrating what they can do.

Education sits at the core of her approach, as she’s dedicated to helping clients understand how to get the best results, empowering them with the knowledge to build a healthy lifestyle that feels balanced and sustainable — without restriction.

Hayley thrives in the group training environment, where support, encouragement, and community create something genuinely special. She loves watching people train alongside likeminded individuals and grow stronger together.

Hayley also finds one-on-one coaching deeply meaningful. Supporting someone through a personal goal — whether it’s body composition, mental health, injury prevention, or rehabilitation — is something she considers a privilege. She takes particular satisfaction in rehab work, guiding clients from discomfort and setbacks back to doing the things they love.

  • I started out teaching group fitness, RPM, Aqua Aerobics, Boxfit etc. I then ventured to the UK to work as a Personal Trainer on cruise ships. I learnt a lot, and when I returned to Perth, I started my own Personal Training business and worked as a sub contractor for many years. 

    Now here I am as co-owner of PWR Fitness. To be here with likeminded coaches who share the same vision is something truly special.

MEET OUR COACH

KYLIE Pires

Kylie thrives in the buzz of a group training session — loud music, big energy, and what she calls “collective effervescence.” It’s the atmosphere that keeps people coming back and staying accountable.

She believes strength is something everyone can build. The time and dedication it takes is exactly what makes the results so rewarding.

Kylie finds it inspiring to watch clients grow stronger, build endurance, and gain confidence in their ability to train. Seeing that moment when someone achieves something they didn’t think they could — that’s what lights her up. Supporting people through their fitness journey genuinely makes her happy.

Her coaching style is hands-on and technique-focused, with an emphasis on mastering fundamental compound lifts. When appropriate, she incorporates conditioning work to support balanced body composition.

At her core, Kylie wants people to see a healthy lifestyle as something to enjoy and embrace. To her, movement is a reward — and your body is the greatest asset you’ll ever have.

  • Initially I started out as a group fitness instructor over a decade ago, delivering RPM/Cycle, Body Attack, Pilates, Freestyle aerobics etc. Thereafter certifying as a Personal Trainer.
    My qualifications include Cert IV in Fitness, TRX/ Battle ropes & Kettlebells, Les Mills Attack and RPM, Cycle, Pilates, and Pre & postnatal certified.
